Overwhelmed!
Most people know that coming out of the closet is not an easy thing to do, especially to your parents. I remember when I told my parents in 2002, and it was all drama. After a long silence, not talking about it and drama, I finally had the courage to bring it up again today. Stefan is coming to Holland this summer and it is time for them to know about it. Because I want them to know. Today I went to see my parents. I wanted to talk about it so bad, about everything, but I couldn’t get it out of my chest. I stayed at my parents house for a couple of hours, had dinner there and they dropped me off at the trainstation. So in the car I asked my parents what their plan is for the weekend. I told them that I wanna come over Saturday because there is something I want to talk about. So, they were saying that I should tell them now.
So we parked at the station and we had a conversation about it. About the whole ‘being gay’ issue, all the emotions involved, etc… and that I met someone. There was a little bit of a silence and I was thinking: Oh gosh, now what. The reaction from my parents was very positive. I was kinda shocked. I guess that I have been focusing too much on the negative.
My mom was saying that it is very nice and she asked if I am going to move in with someone. I was like no, and I told her about Stefan and that he is from Canada, living there at the moment, and that he will come this summer to see me. My dad was saying that he only wants me to be happy and that he wants what’s best for me and that I don’t have to be ashamed. Another ‘wow’ moment occured. Mom wanted to see a picture of Stefan, but I told her I didn’t had one on me. I did, though, but it was kinda going too fast as I was still pretty much overwhelmed about their reaction. So mom had the suggestion to come over Saturday so we can talk more about it. And she wants to see a picture of Stefan so I will show her.
So anyway, the whole conversation in the car went very well. I was kinda shaking. I felt like crying a bit. It was not something I expected. I had to catch train so we said our goodbye’s. Dad wanted a hug and mom wanted a kiss. When I got out of the car I was very out of focus, like it was a dream. But it wasn’t. I was kinda afraid to look back, so my mom opened her window and yelled: Lee, bye sweetie, bye sweetie. So I looked around with a smile and waved. I buzzed Stefan on the BlackBerry, on Google Talk, and I told him that I did it. Still, I was shaking and I couldn’t type, and I had to call someone immediately. So I called Sven but there was no answer, so shortly after she rang me back and I told her all about it. It really feels like a weight off my shoulders. Then I arrived home, got online and chatted with Stefan and told him too. I am so happy.
I told them that when Stefan is here that I would love to bring him with me whenever I come see them. My mom was really encouraging and she said that she would love to meet him. It all kinda went very fast. So this is a beginning. Now I can talk to them about Stefan. It really is such a relieve. Like I said, it is not an easy thing to do. But I did it. And to tell you the truth, I am very proud of myself.
“I Am Because We Are”
I am really anxious to see Madonna’s film “I Am Because We Are”, and I truly believe it is a must see documentary. It documents the life of millions of orphans in Malawi, Africa. Madonna started the Raising Malawi Foundation a couple of years ago. For more information go to the Raising Malawi website. I have donated a little a while back, and if I had the chance to spare some money I would do it again. “I Am Because We Are” is currently being played in theatres and television all around the world. When you get the chance to watch it, please do. There is an “I Am Because We Are” page on YouTube. Here is Madonna’s intro for the movie.
Check out the official trailer for “I Am Because We Are”. Please, take a couple of minutes and watch it.
Check the official I Am Because We Are website.
Madonna back in Malawi
US pop star Madonna arrived in impoverished Malawi Sunday, airport officials said, to file documents allowing her to adopt a second Malawian child, this time a three-year-old girl.
A private jet carrying the pop star and her entourage landed at Lilongwe’s Kamuzu international airport shortly before 2:00 pm (1200 GMT).
The plane landed on a runway reserved for cargo planes, far from waiting journalists and photographers. The singer left the airport in a convoy of four vehicles.
Madonna is due in court on Tuesday to file adoption papers for three-year-old Mercy James from an orphanage in southern Malawi, according to a court official. The singer had spotted her during her first visit to Malawi, in 2006.

One hour less sleep
I just got home from another late shift at work. It is just passed 1am. Making food now and doing laundry. I will watch a new episode of Dollhouse later on. Tonight the clock will go one hour ahead. Which means that I will sleep for one hour less. Isn’t that just kick you in the crotch and spit on your neck fantastic? Oh well. Tomorrow another late shift from 3pm until 11:30pm. Monday I will be off from work, so that’s exciting.
So what is new? Last Thursday I went out to dinner with my team mates from work. Before that I went to visit Cindy for a couple of hours. That was alot of fun. We chilled, we laughed, we chatted and drank wine. After that I met up with my co-workers from work and we went to this Ethiopian restaurant in the city of Amsterdam. I never had Ethiopian food before. It was the first time and the last time. It was okay, but not for a second time.
Last Friday I had a party at work. During the last half of my shift I helped out with organizing and decorating as I was part of the party committee. Less people show up at the party, but still it was a lot of fun. Lots of food, which we needed to throw out most of it, and lots of booze. I had a good time. A colleague was spinning some tunes and he played Madonna for me. At first no one was dancing, so I decided to start moving and then shortly after more people joined me on the dancefloor. I was pretty wasted at the end, but I made it home safe and sound.
So, that was pretty much the highlight of my week. How about you? Anyway, I will be back again soon. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, for those who don’t have to work that is.
Janet goes bold too!
Well, what do you know. Janet has been following Madonna’s and my steps. She has been spotted at La Guardia Airport with a BlackBerry Bold. She seems not to be excited to have one. Madonna on the other hand seems more smiley with a BlackBerry Bold.

Reversed plans
Wow, it’s been a while since I have posted something here. I must not neglect my little bloggie! So what’s new, what’s happening? Nothing much. I have my BlackBerry Bold for almost a week now and let me tell you this: I love it! It is the best phone ever, I’m telling you. I cannot see myself with another phone. BlackBerry is it for me, there is no doubt about it! The BlackBerry Bold is much more powerful than my previous one, the BlackBerry Curve 8310. Yeah, I am very, very pleased!
What else is new. Oh yeah, tomorrow I am going out to dinner with my team from work. All expenses will be paid for by work. So that’s nice! We are going to an Ethiopian restaurant in Amsterdam. I have never eaten Ethiopian food before, but I am sure it will be good. Besides, I am a walking trashcan myself, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Hope to snap some pictures too.
On Friday, there will be a little party at work. I am part of the party committee, along with some other friends from work, so we will have a little get together with food, drinks and music. Hope to snap some pictures of the party as well. The party is from 5:30pm until 09:00pm. It’s not long, but it should be a lot of fun.
Here is some more news. Some of you might know that I was planning to go to Canada in August to see my love, Stefan. But that is for now going to be plan B. There is plan A! Stefan is going to try to come to Holland instead. He came with the idea yesterday and I can’t believe we never thought of this before. It’s all very excited! He needs to arrange a passport, so that is his first priority. It will be fun. When he comes he will stay with me for a whole month! I can’t wait. It’s going to be amazing! And it will probably work out more for the best. I mean still have my staff ticket from KLM for this year, but maybe I will use that for a later time. Problem is that I am nearly out of my vacation days, so there might be a chance that I can’t use my ticket at all this year. But oh well, as long as I get to spend time with my love, I am happy! Maybe I will use my ticket to go somewhere in Europe with Stefan, for a long weekend or something, to some place romantic. That would be nice too. More updates about all these exciting plans will come soon.
Anyway, enough said for now. I am off from work and I sorta have a plan to open up a bottle of wine and wait for a nice buzz of relaxation.
Better Facebook for BlackBerry
CrackBerry recently reported that a beta version of FaceBook 1.5 leaked for BlackBerries with the 4.6 OS version, which is the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900. There are some minor changes, yet very handy changes! You can comment on other people’s status messages, that is one of the new features of the new version. Love it! Here are some screencaps for you. Don’t you all wish you had a BlackBerry now?

Goodbye Curve, Hello Bold!
Hey everyone, I have made a new little video for you guys. Something that was difficult to make as I had to say goodbye to my old BlackBerry Curve, but there is no reason to be sad, though. I got a new BlackBerry! The BlackBerry Bold. And why not flaunt it in front of your faces. Do you love it? Leave your comments!
I got the Bold! And I love it!
Well I was off for three days and I loved it! Tomorrow back to work. Oh well. I have been doing nothing but chillin’ my ass off! Do you love it? Today, I received my new BlackBerry, the BlackBerry Bold! I was so excited. I ordered it last Monday and I received it today. They actually delivered it yesterday but I wasn’t home. So today I got it! I was screaming like a little schoolgirl. It’s such a beauty! Sven came over after she was done with work. She got her new BlackBerry 8900 Curve. So we had our little BlackBerry get together today. It was fabulous. I am so happy with it! It’s so much better than the old BlackBerry Curve I had. So right now I am playing with it. I will make a new vlog tomorrow where I will say goodbye to my old BlackBerry Curve and hello to my new BlackBerry Bold! Keep an eye out! Anyway, I am going to play with my BlackBerry now, so I will end my shit here. Ta-ta for now!

Madonna’s Greatest Hits
Calling all Madonna fans! The Queen of Pop is coming out with a long-awaited greatest hits collection this fall.
‘We’re hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September,” the singer’s longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. “We’re all very excited about it.”
With so many hit songs to choose from over her long career, the singer’s manager, Guy Oseary, asked fans on Twitter Tuesday which tunes they think should be included. “Working on Madonna’s greatest hits album,” he wrote. “Any tracks that you think MUST be on?”
Still, the new album won’t only feature songs her fans know and love. “Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album,” says Rosenberg.
The greatest hits album will be Madonna’s last with Warner Records, with whom she sold more than 200 million albums. In October 2007, she ended her 27-year relationship with the label when she signed a reported $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation.
