Happy New Year, love Leander

I have never ever made a video message for my weblog. This is the first one ever! Just a little new year’s message to everyone out there. All Leander Online visitors, who in fact aren’t that many, but oh well. Happy new year, everyone!

Love, Stefan…

I received two fansigns from my number one babe, Stefan! Aren’t they adorable? Thank you, Stefan, I am totally loving it! And I love you, remember that. These are the best and nicest fansigns ever! Thank you so much. You are the best. Oh, and did I tell you that I love you? I do, I… Love… You! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Stefan, my love...

Leaving 2008 behind! Ready for 2009!

Yesterday was my last working day for this year. When I left work I was saying goodbye to every and I told them I will see them again next year. Which sounds so far away, right? Anyway, work was good. I got to leave half hour earlier. I met up with Svenlana for a brief moment at The Hague HS Station. Always lovely seeing her and have a good laugh. Now that the year is almost over, I would like to go through all the good things that has happened to me this year. Well, where should I start…

As a Madonna fanatic, like a total mad fan, it was time for the release of Madonna’s album Hard Candy, in April. Some snippets were leaked online and I loved it. The thing is that when Madonna releases an album, it’s often an album you have to listen to and get used to. It grew on me really fast. And I am still listening to it from time to time. Favorite lyrical tracks on the album are ‘Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You’ and ‘Voices’. At the moment I want ‘Voices’ to be a song played on my funeral. I know it may sound freaky to even start thinking about that, but still. So when the album got out I immediately bought a copy for myself, and also for Verena. She’s not really a fan, but she loves ‘Miles Away’.

In April I went on holiday with my parents. It was a long time since we went on a trip together, and it was fun. We went to the United States for about ten days. We flew from Amsterdam to Los Angeles. During the ten days we visited four states. I know, it was one hell of an exhausted trip. From Los Angeles we drove to Palm Springs, where it was bloody hot as hell. Then we drove to Arizona. We stayed at a small cowboy town called Williams. There we visited some of the sights nearby like The Grand Canyons and Flagstaff. Then we drove to St. George in Utah. Stayed there for one night. Then it was off to Las Vegas in Nevada. Then back to California where we stayed the last couple of days in Hollywood. We visited my aunt in Burbank as well, and went shopping and sightseeing in Glendale, Beverly Hills, downtown Los Angeles. It was a nice holiday. During the last day in Los Angeles I received a message from a friend saying that Madonna, out of the blue, announced her Sticky & Sweet World Tour and that she will come to Amsterdam on September 2nd. I was freaking out! Mostly because I had spent alot of money on my holiday. But my sweet dad was able to lend me money for tickets! So that was all settled.

This year I turned 28 years old, on July 17th. I wasn’t planning on doing anything with my birthday, but some of my friends from work thought it was needed to celebrate, because well, I am quite a loveable person. Just kidding. Anyway, I had a little get together here at my small apartment. Being a host at my own little party makes me nervous, but it went well. I had really fun and I was happy to spend my birthday celebration with some of the people I adore and admire. So all and all it was a good little party.

Me and Verena

At the beginning of August I finally got to meet a long time online friend who I have been chatting with since 1998, Rebecca from Sydney, Australia. She has been to Holland before, but I was living in Ireland at that time so I was unable to see her. But this year she visited Holland again and I finally got to meet her. Save the best for last, I’d like to think that. I was very happy to meet her after all these years chatting online and on our BlackBerry’s. Definitely one of my highlights as well. She is fun and sweet and very talented. Becca is an amazing singer and she’s got great tracks. Check out her MySpace to check it out!

Me and Rebecca at Amsterdam Airport

Madonna kicked off her Sticky & Sweet Tour on August 23rd in Cardiff, United Kingdom. I was up all night to check out the latest pictures and videos from the tour. In the first place I didn’t wanted to get spoilers as I was going to see her on September 2nd, but I couldn’t control myself, so I got all the information on the show, etc.

The September got near and it was my turn the see Madonna live again, for the seventh time. I went to see the show together with my friend Francois. He came over the day before and we went to the Amsterdam Arena at 5am. Yeah, we waited for 15 hours. Can you believe it? We arrived at the stadium at about 6am. There were already about 100 people waiting in line. I met up with Sotiris and his friend. I met Sotiris online through Madonna Fanzine, a forum, and he was posting he was going to see Madonna live in Amsterdam so we met up at the venue. I still think back sometimes on all the waiting. The weather was crap, it  was raining most of the day. The doors of the venue opened at 5:30pm. Oh my God, it was hell as the couple of thousand people standing behind me all got hysterical. I was pretty much overly exhausted and totally out of breath from running into the stadium for the perfect spot. But we managed. We stood about third row from the catwalk. It was all worth the wait. Show was amazing, it was awesome to see Madonna up close again. I had the time of my life. I wanted to see more shows in Europe, but unfortunately I was unable to. Financial reasons. But at least I saw her and I was very pleased and totally Madonna-fied.

Madonna live in Amsterdam, September 2nd 2008

I love my BlackBerry. I have my BlackBerry for over a year now. And I cannot live without it! Last month I received a PIN message with a request from Stefan. So I have added him on my BlackBerry Messenger Contacts. So we started to chat. I was thinking he was from Holland, because of his name, Stefan. But he wasn’t. He is from Canada. I first impression was positive. I loved our conversations on BlackBerry Messenger. Then we continued online, added him on Facebook and MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. I am not on MSN anymore because of some spam virus thing. I use Yahoo! now, which is in my opinion less ghetto. Anyway, we  started chatting on a regular basis, like every evening, which was day time for him. Chatting with webcam and also having voice conversations through Yahoo! Messenger. And believe it or not, I have been falling for Stefan, a lot. I never felt like this before with anyone I talk to online. Weird huh? I started to develop feelings for Stefan, and feels the same way about me. We continued seeing each other on cam and talking from time to time through our mics. And right now, I am just pretty much in love. I talk to him every day. Sometimes there is some drama, but still, we talk it out and all is good. We share our deepest feelings with each other and I feel really connected to him. There is not a day I don’t think about him. He is the last thing I think about when I go to bed and the first thing I think about when I wake up. Up until now I have grown to care and actually love him. And he loves me. And I feel pretty much blessed and in heaven. I am glad he found me on the BlackBerry network. It’s like faith has brought us together, even though we are miles away from each other. It still feels good. I feel him here with me, in a spiritual sort of way. And I am gonna go for it and try to see him next year.

So, there you have it. These are my main highlights of 2008. The next year can only get better. I can feel it! Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. And I am going to do that in the new year. What will you do? Anyway, I will probably blog again before the new year starts. I just wanted to share for now my highlights of this year.

Review of the Curves and the Bold

Check out the review video below. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions? They both seems to be great! Dilemma! I get to choose a new phone in March. I hope to have made a good decision by then.

Javelin or Bold?

My contract with Vodafone ends on September 6th and if I extend my contract for an unlimited time I get to choose a new BlackBerry. Now this is the dilemma. I don’t have a clue which ones to take. Vodafone is already offering the BlackBerry Bold. But there is also the new BlackBerry 8900 Curve, also known as the BlackBerry Javelin. I have really have to check the specifications of them both and see which one really suits me. My boyfriend also wants to have the BlackBerry Bold, which for him is a huge upgrade as he has the BlackBerry 8703E, which is like the antique ones. Just kidding, Stefan! But is having a same BlackBerry as your boyfriend a go-go, or a no-go? Check out the two BlackBerries below that I am pretty much interested in. I can’t make a decision.

American McGee’s Alice

I love video games, and I am usually play games on my PSP or on my Xbox. There is this game I want to play so bad for the PC. It’s an old game, really. It was released in October 2000 already. It’s called American McGee’s Alice. Check out the trailer for this game and you will see how a classic fairy tale became a twisted nightmare.

So what did you think of the trailer? I have to see if I am able to download this game somewhere. It looks really good and thrilling to play!
