Stefan is here!

Stefan is here! Cindy and I picked him up from the airport yesterday. I was quite nervous, I must say. I got to the airport early, at 7:15am. Met up with Cindy there and waited until Stefan’s flight arrived. We were waiting at the arrival terminal where we saw the passengers behind the window at baggage claim. At first I didn’t see him. Cindy spotted him first and then I saw him. He came out and there I was, giving him a big hug. I was really happy to see him, finally!

We walked around at the airport a bit, had some some ice cold frappacino from Starbucks and then we took the train to my house. Cindy came along as well. Weather was nice and kinda warm. We went to the supermarket, showed him around the neighbourhood. Stefan was awake for 34 hours. The poor guy. I was quite tired too. Fell asleep at 8pm and woke up this morning around 9am. I am well rested.

Today is just chill around the house. Going to do some grocery shopping later this afternoon. My parents came over as well and Stefan got to meet them. He was a bit shy. Sunday we are going to see my parents.

Okay this is just a little short blog. I am happy that Stefan is here now. Very excited to have him here. We are going to do alot of fun stuff together. I will let him meet my friends as well, as they are very excited as well. Hope everyone is having a nice day! Peace out, everyone!

Here are some more pictures of Madonna’s new Louis Vuitton campaign that surfaced the Internet! I am loving this! I cannot wait to see more pictures. Perhaps some different poses, that would be nice. I must say that these pictures are way to photoshopped with effects. Would love to see the ‘raw’ pictures of this shoot.

“Queen of Pop” becomes “Queen of Cash”

Madonna No Comments »

U.S. pop diva Madonna has been named the highest-earning musician by America’s Forbes magazine. The “Queen of Pop” has made a staggering 110 million dollars in the past year, the magazine reports.

In a poll conducted by the Forbes magazine, the 50-year-old ‘Material Girl’ singer has topped the slot, thanks in part to the success of her ‘Hard Candy’ album, her sold-out ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour and lucrative endorsement deals.

To grab the top spot in Forbes’ annual list of the top-earning musicians (from June 2008 to June 2009), Madonna has pipped Celine Dion and Beyonce Knowles, who have been ranked second and third respectively in the list.

Runner-ups
Canadian pop diva Dion finished second with an estimated $100 million, while the singer-actress Beyonce was placed third with $87 million, thanks to touring “I Am… Sasha Fierce” and promotional deals, as well as her esteemed performances in movies “Obsessed” and “Cadillac Records”.

Rocker Bruce Springsteen and country star Kenny Chesney bagged the fourth and fifth place, after earning $70 million and $65 million respectively in the past year. However, there was a three-way tie for the number six position between Coldplay, Rascal Flatts and AC/DC, who all earned $60 million each.

Michael Jackson tickets to be refunded

Michael Jackson No Comments »

AEG Live has announced that full refunds will be given to fans who purchased tickets through authorized agents to Michael Jackson’s 50 planned concerts at the O2 Arena in London, according to a news release from the promoter, which operates the O2 Arena. The refunds will include service fee charges.

On July 1, fans who purchased tickets to Jackson’s “This Is It” concerts will be directed to MichaelJacksonLive.com for information about how to receive full refunds. The refunds will be processed by authorized ticketing agencies, including primary ticketing company Ticketmaster and U.K. reseller Viagogo, among others.

Fans will be also given the option to receive the concert tickets as souvenirs in lieu of the full refunds. The tickets were printed with the lenticular process and were designed by Jackson, according to the release. The offer will be valid through Aug. 14.

“The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known,” AEG Live president/CEO Randy Phillips said in a statement. “Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death.”

Jackson’s planned 50-show run at the O2 Arena in London would have been the highest-grossing single concert engagement. More than $85 million worth of tickets had already been sold for the series of performances.

What a week!

Leander No Comments »

Wow, it’s a new week. I got home from work about an hour ago. Took a shower, fixed dinner and I now I am chillin’ a bit before I go to bed. I have to work again tomorrow morning at 10am. But oh well, what a week we all went through. Mainly because of Michael Jackson’s death last Thursday, which was big shock to the world. Like unbelievable. I still feel sad when I think about it, really. It was a real slap in the face!

What I find so hypocritical is that the last, let’s say, ten years of his life people have been nothing but negative about him. How weird he is and how he’s crazy. And now he’s gone and everyone is like ‘aww’. It doesn’t make any sense. Oh well. I love Michael Jackson’s music. It’s a big part of me growing up. Songs from the 80’s and 90’s. I have seen him in concert twice, which was an amazing experience. He’s just a legend. He will be remembered always. King of Pop, forever!

Looking forward to see Madonna’s broadcast of the Sticky & Sweet Tour this Saturday. Next week I will see the show live in Belgium. Very thrilled about it. I will also see Britney Spears two nights before in Belgium as well. All fun things planned!

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a little note. I am going to continue with relaxing and then go to bed. Hope everyone is having a nice day and a good week! Peace out!

Rumour: Madonna at Jackson tribute

Madonna No Comments »

The show will go on for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour.

The announcement was made at a June 26 memorial gathering for Jackson, held by the tour’s cast and crew.

According to a tour organizer, one performance will now be held in September and will be a replica of what was planned for “This Is It” in London.

High-profile singers are expected to perform in place of Jackson. Among them, possibly Madonna, who was expected to appear at one of Jackson’s shows in London. A firm decision has not been made as to where the tribute concert will take place, but it’s likely to be in Los Angeles.

Madonna on Michael Jackson’s death

Madonna No Comments »

Madonna released her own statement on the death of King of Pop, the one and only Michael Jackson.

“I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”

Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary posted on Twitter the following: The moment that never happened – A month ago Madonna told me she wanted to do a surprise performance at one of Michael Jackson’s UK shows.

Here is a little snippet of Madonna giving an homage to Michael Jackson during The Virgin Tour in 1985.

RIP Michael Jackson

Wow, this is a sad day in music history. King of Pop Michael Jackson died after being rushed to the hospital for cardiac arrest! I have no words. May he rest in peace. Thank you for the music, the one and only King of Pop!

Michael Jackson

I am not Michael Jackson’s biggest fan, but I sure appreciate his music. I have seen Michael Jackson live in concert twice and he is a true entertainer. He will be remembered forever.

My good friend Gisela is his number one fan. And I can’t imagine how it feels to lose someone you idolize your entire life. So, Gisela, if you read it, I send you all comfort, sweetie! And if this would be Madonna, well, I would just be heartbroken too.

Wishing all the strength for the Jackson family and all the millions of fans all around the world. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson!

Not motivated anymore!

Leander No Comments »

Just a little bloggie before I go to bed. Yeah I am hitting the sheets early tonight. I cannot keep my eyes open. i have been up since early this morning. I went out and about with my parents. We went to IKEA and I bought myself a new coffee table. It’s a nice one. And cheap too. It was only 35,00 Euro’s. Not bad, not bad. It was a busy day. The weather was nice.

Work again tomorrow. I hope tomorrow will be an okay day. Yesterday at work I was having quite a hard time. I’m just not motivated anymore and I don’t know what to do. With the crisis and all it is not easy to find a new job. If you’re lucky to have find a job it is only for a half year, or maybe sometimes a year, contract. And then it is the question if your contract will be extended. Also it will be a step back with my monthly income. I would definitely miss about 300 to 400 Euro’s a month. I just cannot afford that. I got my monthly dues like my mortgage and stuff. I try very hard to switch the button when I go to work, but yesterday I was just losing it and I just couldn’t handle it anymore. So yeah, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Anyway, this is just a short little blog. Hope everyone is having a great day. I sure had a great one. Stay cool, everyone!

Official Book Club Selection!

Kathy Griffin No Comments »

Kathy Griffin is going to release a book in September. I just spotted that on her official website. And you what? I would love to read it! She is so hilarious. Love her!

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin

Product Description (Amazon.com)

Official Book Club Selection is Kathy Griffin unplugged, uncensored, and unafraid to dish about what really happens on the road, away from the cameras, and at the star party after the show. (It’s also her big chance to score that coveted book club endorsement she’s always wanted. Are you there, Oprah? It’s me, Kathy.)

Kathy Griffin has won Emmys for her reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, been nominated for a Grammy, worked and walked every red carpet known to man, and rung in the New Year with Anderson Cooper. But the legions of fans who pack Kathy’s sold-out comedy shows have heard only part of her remarkable story. Writing with her trademark wit, the feisty comic settles a few old scores, celebrates the friends and mentors who helped her claw her way to the top, and shares insider gossip about celebrity behavior–the good, the bad, and the very ugly. She recounts the crazy ups and downs of her own career and introduces us to some of the supertalented people she encountered before they got famous (or, in some cases, after fame went to their heads). Word to the wise: If you’ve ever crossed Kathy Griffin at some point in your life, check the index for your name.

Along the way, Kathy reveals intimate details about her life before and after she made the big time. She opens up about everything from growing up with a dysfunctional family in suburban Illinois to bombing as a young comedian in L.A., from her well-publicized plastic surgery disasters to her highly publicized divorce, and more. Only in this book will you learn how the dinner table is the best training ground for a career in stand-up, how speaking your mind can bite you on the ass and buy you a house, and which people in Kathy’s life have taught her the most valuable lessons–both inside and outside the entertainment industry.

Refreshingly candid, unflinchingly honest, and full of hilarious “Did she really say that?” moments, Official Book Club Selection will make you laugh until you cry, or just puke up a little bit.

Formatting my PC again!

Leander 1 Comment »

How is everyone’s Sunday? My Sunday is very relaxing! I only have one day off today. What are my plans? Well, let me tell you. I am going format my whole computer and re-install everything. Yes, that’s right! My desktop PC is like virus central right now and it just pisses me off, like you have no idea! My parents are coming over later and my dad is going to help me. Poor dad. And this on Father’s Day too!

I am seriously considering getting rid of the PC and maybe get an iMac. Well, not anytime soon tho, cause I have to save money for it. I am just so pleased with my MacBook Pro. And really, Apple is just so much better. Their operating system is way better than Microsoft Windows, and I am sure that there are thousands of other people who can agree with me on this one. For real.

I have only one day off this weekend, which kinda blows. But I am off from work again on Tuesday, also just one day. Other plan that I have today is playing The Sims 3. Seriously, I am totally hooked on that game. I was already hooked on The Sims 2, but this one is so much better! Anyone out there who is agreeing with me? Also going to do some cleaning today. My apartment gets so dusty so fast! It annoys me.

So what has been happening the past few days? I haven’t blogged for four days. I’m sorry about that. Well last Friday after work I had a drink at Defile, downstairs from work, a goodbye drink as Dian is leaving. It was nice.

Yesterday at work during my break I went to see my colleague Emilia, who is working at Air France reservations. She got a little treat for me for my BlackBerry which she bought in New York. A nice white case for my Bold. I love it. So sweet of her!

Yesterday after work I met up with Sven at the airport as she was working there. So I met up with her after she was finished. Hadn’t seen her for a while either. Always fun to have some quality time with Sven. So yeah, that’s basically all I did the past few days. Quite boring, isn’t it?

Right now it is counting down. Stefan will be here soon and I am very excited about that. After such a long time waiting! Very thrilled about that. Also thrilled to see Britney and Monday in three weeks in Belgium. All fun things to look forward to!

Anyway, nothing else that is exciting to report at the moment. My parents will be here in an hour. I hope that everyone is having a nice Sunday. I know I will.

I got a little treat!

Leander 2 Comments »

Excited, that’s what I am. Last monday I decided to order The Sims 3, and pay within two weeks, which suits me well, so I can pay for it when I get my salary next week. Anyway, I received the little package today and I can’t wait to play it. I downloaded it a couple weeks back,  but for some reason it didn’t work well on my PC. And also the game is compatible with Mac, but for some reason I couldn’t get it to work.

So I decided to just buy it. I’m like a little child. And of course I have made a little video as well to share with you all how excited I am. I am loving it.

Something was missing!

Okay, a new video here. I know, it’s like I am on a roll, for real. Anyway, I have added a little something. I have my own theme song. Yeah, that’s what was missing all along. Don’t you think so? Vlog topics are: theme song, Stefan’s visit, going to Britney and Madonna, missing my TV shows, Paris Hilton and Kathy Griffin.

Download my theme song here!

Leander’s Theme Song lyrics:

There is a boy who is a Madonna fanatic
He is addicted to his BlackBerry
But please don’t hold that against him
So check it out, and see what he’s all about

Leander – That’s me
Leander – The one and only
Leander – You know you love it
Leander – Yeah, that’s right
