I read online that ‘Kapsalon’ is starting to get noticed in several other countries throughout Europe as well as the United States. I have read that in New York there is actually a food stand where you can get a ‘Kapsalon’. The only bad thing about this dish is that it contains roughly 1800 calories. Brutal! But once in a while is okay, and I think I sure deserve a delicious meal right now, so bite me!

Pretty Little Liars

Who do you think A. is?

I watched two shows this evening. Gossip Girl, which was okay, and Pretty Little Liars. I fucking love that show. It’s so thrilling and filled with suspense. Four more episodes to go until the big season finale! Do you watch the show? If so, what are your thoughts? I hear that the television show is different than the series of books. In the books A. is Mona. Who do you think is A. in the television series? I really have no clue. Who do you think is responsible for Allison’s death? So many people are suspects! And we keep on finding out more and more clues, like hidden camera footage of people who we never thought would be part of the murder. And how many of those people were actually involved? It’s all a mystery and it can all be a bit confusing.

In the latest episode we see that Mona is now a target of A. as well. And also the parents are starting to know about A.’s existence. It seems that A. has no bounderies!

I love her attitude and I think she has a funny sense of humor. Of the male characters I like Ezra the most. What’s not to like? He’s sexy in a nerdy teacher kind of way.

The season finale will be aired on March 19. It will be a big episode where A. will be revealed. Who else is excited? Oh my goodness, I can’t wait. I wonder how it will be like. Any ideas? I hope there will be a third season after that. In the book series there is more than one A., I think. That’s what I heard. So if they take that part of the books into the television show, then there must be a third season. Also, the show is a huge success in the States. It would be stupid not to have third season. But, we’ll see when the time gets there. Fingers crossed!

Good preview! Now I really cannot wait for the next episode. Every time I watch an episode, it makes me sit on the edge of my seat and every time something thrilling and exciting is happening it ends. They always end an episode with some sort of cliffhanger. I hate it, but it’s good! It makes you want more and more and it sure as hell makes you keep watching it and see what happens next! Argh, the excitement! Seriously, when the season ends what the hell am I suppose to do? Wait for months and months! Sometimes it’s like torture!

A father in awe of Madonna

Okay, time for some Madonna stuff! I saw a tweet which had a link to a video of Madonna’s Superbowl performance, recorded by a father in awe! It’s shows the full performance and it’s shot from the the stands. It’s an amazing video with a nice view from the stands and you can tell the father is totally totally in awe. Favorite yell from the guy is ‘OH SWEET MOTHER MARY GOOD LUCK BABY JESUS THAT WAS AWESOME’. It’s hilarious! I could totally feel his excitement! Check out the video below (before it will be taken down)! Just listen to the guy recording. He seems very, very excited!

Not to long ago I started noticing these so called ‘pastel’ effect pictures. Whenever you post a picture you can add a hashtag to which describes your picture and it allows other people to find your pictures easily. Alot of pictures I came across had hashtags such as #pastel or #soft_pastel. And I pretty much fell for the soft light pink-ish colored pictures. I browsed and searched on Instagram for ‘pastel’ pictures and since then I pretty much tried to create this effect on pictures as well. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, but after trying out different photography apps on my iPhone and also asking people on Instagram for help, I think I got the hang of it! With this blog I am gonna share with you my own way of creating soft pastel colored pictures.

The Apps

Okay, there are thousands of photography apps in the iTunes AppStore which allows you to create or add different filters to your piture. And believe me, I have tried a lot of them. I am going to showcase the different apps that I use to create pastel colored pictures. As an example I am going to use this colorful picture of pencils and try to achieve the soft colored pastel effect.

Below are a few of the apps that I will use for the pastel color effect.

myFilm

This app is easy to use and only takes a few taps to create soft pastel like effect. Sometimes you get the exact result you are looking for and sometime the result may not be all that you’re looking for, but you can always continue editing it in another app. The user interface of this app is pretty straight forward. You have to select the creme/purple colored filter effect, since that one comes close to a soft pastel color effect. You can see in the left image brightness and contrast, and those are the only options you need. You can play around adjusting the brightness and contrast and click on development until you got the result that suits you best.

Like I stated previously, it sometimes the result works and sometimes it doesn’t. It is also depending on the original picture you want to edit. If the original picture is already bright, there’s a bigger chance to get the soft pastel effect. If not, you can always export the result and continue editing in another app. The result you see on the right looks okay, but let’s try and edit it a bit further with another app.

Luminance

Luminance is one of the many apps out there where you can add different filters and effects to you pictures. You can also adjust effects manually, like adding extra brightness, contrast, color tone, white balance, etc. Below I opened the exported pictures that I created with myFilm and I have added the ‘Vibe’ filter to give it a but more brightness and contrast.

After selecting the ‘Vibe’ filter I manually adjust the white balance and color toning. Again, you have to experiment and try things out, depending on the orginal coloring of your picture. As you can see in the result below I am pretty close to the pastel color effect. When you’re pleased and satisfied with the result you can save the picture.

Other Apps

Phonto

You can always use other apps to give your image a little extra something before you post it on Instagram. Add some text or a nice border/frame. There are quite a few apps out there which allows you to add text to your pictures. The one I use often is an app called Phonto. There’s a large selection of different fonts you can use. Add colored fonts, transparent fonts, etc. I’m going to stick with white. Below is an example.

When your done adding your desired text you can save the picture on to your Camera Roll.

GifRus

Instagram only publishes square pictures. If your picture isn’t square you can select a part of the picture that you want to publish. Instagram filters have frames as well, but they come with each filter that you choose. You cannot just select a frame and be done with it. Besides, I am not fond of the frames Instagram has. I like a frame that is just plain white and simple. There are many apps out there that offer plain white frames, such as PicFrame. Personally I use an app called GifRus instead. There are only a few frames to choose from, but they are the kind that I like. The app is self explanatory. Select your exported picture and select the frame you like. As you see in the picture below on the right you see some nice frames. And that’s all there is to it. Save your picture again and you’re done.

Here is the final result of the picture! Upload it to Instagram, remember to add the hashtags #pastel and your created pastel colored picture will be found by many other pastel lovers!

That was my Saturday. I also ate a lot of food. But let’s not go there. Today, Sunday, I did some more chores. Did my second spin of laundry, changed the bedsheets, which by the way totally annoys me as well. Okay, I don’t wanna sound like complaining, but every time I change my bedsheets I end up making a big mess. And some of the sheets I have are either a little bit too big or too small. So, the sheets that I use now are a little bit too big. And I hate that, because after a while the inside starts to creep down inside and you’re left with this empty spot that just hangs there. So I used three safety pins in the opening. Hope that helps. Makes it look like sheet/cover fits perfectly. Ah, not so dumb after all, huh? I’m just kidding.

Oh, and I also use an extra warm and soft blanket, because it’s still quite nippy at night. So extra warmth is always a plus. What do you think of my cute puppy dog blanket. Oh my God, you should totally feel it! It is so soft and comfy! I’m sorry there’s no way for you to feel it. You just have to believe my words.

Sunday is almost over for me. I watched a movie earlier and it was one of the stupidest movies ever. And yet I still watch it all until the end. Hey, you never know right? When you watch a movie and you think it sucks, there’s always or usually a chance where it gets better. But no, it sucked all the way. The movie is called A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas. Apparently this duo got more movies in the past, but in all honesty I haven’t seen any of them. This is the first one I got to see. It’s a comedy, but it wasn’t really that funny. Okay, maybe I laughed once or twice, but that’s it. The only good thing about the movie was seeing Neil Patrick Harris looking all sexy, but that was just briefly. Do I recommend this movie? Not really. It might be funny when you’re stoned or something. Because there’s a lot of ‘being stoned’ moments in the movie.
